Phlebotomist/Lab Aide at Frisbie Memorial Hospital
The Phlebotomist/Lab Aide collects blood specimens using established laboratory techniques; utilizes keyboard and computer for entering patient demographics and test and report inquiry. Ensures accurate specimen processing to maintain specimen integrity. Performs billing and registration procedures accurately and efficiently in order to ensure regulatory compliance. Performs various clerical duties and functions as a receptionist in the clinical laboratory. Obtains specimens from patients at off site facilities including draw stations and/or Nursing homes. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others to optimize job performance and foster working relationships.
Requirements include, one year of experience with a minimum 6 week vocational training in a certified program. Medical terminology desirable. General knowledge of phlebotomy terminology and good computer skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
